Dimboola's teams saw mixed results in the local pennant competition last week, while social bowls and junior development sessions continue.

Wednesday's social bowls winners were Bill Ballard and Geoff Gazelle.

In Saturday's pennant Dimboola 1 had a big loss to Horsham City 1 going down by 60 shots 63-123. Alan Krahe's team were the only winners, winning 22-17, Merv Robert's team lost 13-30, Geoff Gazelle's team lost 12-37 and Cliff Unger's team lost 16-39.

Dimboola 2 had their first win for the year defeating Natimuk 1 by 25 shots 111-86. During the match two subs had to be used as two players were unable to continue.

John Moar's team won 29-20, Gordon Miller's team won 31-21, Bob Gooding's team won 34-15 and Rob Pyers' team lost 17-30.

On Saturday Dimboola 1 will travel to Horsham to play Sunnyside 1. Teams are Peter O'Loughlin, Wayne Albrecht, Ron Gaulke, Alan Krahe(s), Greg Cook, Daniel Danisch, Darryl Argall, Geoff Gazelle(s), Rick Danisch, Frank Neagle, Darryl Both, Cliff Unger(s), Robert Clark, Judith Albrecht, Merv Roberts, Peter Ross(s). Manager Darryl Both, cars leave 12.45.

Dimboola 2 play at home again and will play Coughlin Park 3 teams are Mary Argall, Max Walker, Ron Burlison, Gordon Miller(s), Che Pyers, Ian McRae, Bob Gooding, Rob Pyers(s), Judy Neagle, David Farmer, Trevor Werner, Bryan Beattie(s), Alex Orcsik, Graeme Bond, Bill Ballard, John Moar(s). Manager David Farmer, afternoon tea required.

On Friday another junior development session will be held. It will be from 4.30 to 6.00 with a barbecue to follow. These sessions are to give young people a chance to try bowls. Bowls is not an older person's game anymore and many young people are taking up the game.
