Dimboola Memorial Secondary College's class of 2016 celebrated the conclusion of their time at high school at a graduation dinner on Friday night.

Year 12 Coordinator Mrs Louise Simpson welcomed sixteen year twelve students, noting two apologies, as well as families and staff members.

DMSC Principal Mrs Anne Gawith congratulated the class on their achievements and successes during the year.

Mrs Gawith also reflected on what was happening in 1998, the year in which most of the cohort was born.

"For the parents, I'm sure that the events of 1998 seem like only yesterday."

She encouraged the students to keep in touch with the school.

"The school is a useful resource for you, even after you graduate - be it for references or advice. We encourage you to keep in touch with us."

The students enjoyed a dinner prepared by Cat Clarke and Damian Phanoulas, before being presented with a gift from the school to mark their graduation.

A video tribute to the school's staff offered many laughs for the audience before outgoing school captains Zoe Pilmore and Scott Polycarpou spoke, reflecting on their time at the school.

Those students who completed their Victorian Certificate of Education this year are now eagerly awaiting their results and ATARs, which will be released on Monday 12th December.

The college's awards night will be the final event that these students attend at the school, and will be held on Thursday 15th December from 7pm in the Assembly Hall.
