Fire at Dimboola

A grass fire caused minor damage in a paddock on the corner of Ellerman Street and Cemetery Road in Dimboola Wednesday afternoon.

Eight appliances attended the blaze, including Dimboola 1, Dimboola 2, Antwerp, Cannum, North Wimmera and Gerang, as well as two front-end loaders and Dimboola's new FCV ute.



Western Highway closed west of Nhill

The Western Highway is expected to be closed until mid-afternoon following a truck collision near Nhill early this morning.

Emergency services were called to the collision on the highway, which involved two B-Double trucks, about 12.30am this morning.

House Damaged by Fire at Tarranyurk

The only occupant in the house when the fire was discovered soon after 4.30 am was able to escape safely.

Planning permits approved for new dwellings in Dimboola

At the Hindmarsh Shire Council's final meeting for the year last week two planning permits for four new dwellings in Dimboola were approved.

Two applicants have applied for planning permits, with each permit for two single-story dwellings.
