Lachie Watts continued his good form with the bat on Saturday when he made his fifth score over 50 for the season, but this was not enough for the A grade Bulls to overhaul a large target set by Homers.

Homers 3/250 (E Braithwaite 1/23, L Watts 1/52, S Polack 1/62) defeated Blackheath/Dimboola 8/169 (L Watts 71, G Liston 24*, B Cramer 18, T McGough 11, S Polack 11)

After losing the toss and being sent into the field the Bull's bowlers were unable to make inroads into the Homers batsmen who finishing up 3 for 250 after their allotted 45 overs

Braithwaite finished with 1 for 23 off his 7 overs and Lachie Watts (1 for 52) and Sam Polack (1 for 62) took the other two wickets to fall in the Homers' innings.

When the Bulls went into bat runs where hard to score and after 20 overs the score was 1 for 80, runs continued to be scored slowly and at the conclusion of the allocated 45 overs the score was 8 for 169. The main run scorers were Lachie Watts 71, Trent McGough 11, Brodie Cramer 18, Sam Pollack 11 and G Liston 24 not out.

Next Saturday the A grade Bulls will again play at the Dimboola Recreation Reserve, this time in a one day game against the Horsham Saints and is a game that they must win if they are to have any chance of remaining in the running for a place in the finals.

The C grade resume next week when Blackheath-Dimboola will travel to Coughlan Park to meet Horsham Saints Red in a one day fixture, and although they are currently on the bottom of the ladder the opportunity is still there to make a challenge for a place in the finals over the last eight rounds.
