In warm conditions at the Dimboola Recreation Reserve last Saturday afternoon, the A grade Blackheath-Dimboola Bulls endured a tough day in the field in the first day of their two day game against Rupanyup-Minyip.

Blackheath-Dimboola v. Rupanyup-Minyip 9/265 (L Watts 2/20, E Braithwaite 2/29, G Liston 2/31, H Young 2/39)

Upon being sent into the field by their opponents, Elliott Braithwaite had immediate success by taking the first Rupanyup-Minyip wicket with only 5 runs on the board.

Despite two more wickets which had their opponents in a shaky position of 3 for 70, a couple of big partnerships in the middle order allowed a very competitive total of 9 for 265 to be registered.

The Blackheath-Dimboola bowlers shared the wickets, with Braithwaite, Lachie Watts, Garrett Liston and Harry Young all taking two each, and Peter Wren took the last one.

With hot conditions again forecast for the second day of this match on Saturday, the local batsmen will have to play at their best to reach this target.

A win in this game would be enough to see the Bulls rise from the bottom of the A grade ladder.
