Police are investigating a series of thefts, including copper wire from railway signalling, in the Dimboola region.

Senior Constable Adam Bronca from Horsham Crime Investigation Unit said that two South Australian men have been arrested as a result of the ongoing investigations.

"Two South Australian men were arrested whilst attempting to sell a quantity of the stolen copper wire to a scrap metal dealer in Horsham, on 7th February 2017," he said.

A 34-year-old South Australian man was charged with several counts of theft, and handling stolen goods, and has received a 6 month term of imprisonment.

A 27-year-old South Australian man was charged with handling stolen goods, and will appear at the Horsham Magistrates Court on 12 April 2017.

A further 44-year-old South Australian man was also arrested in relation to the series of thefts, and is likely to receive a summons in relation to the matters.
