Dimboola and District Tennis Association has set its finals schedule with Rainbow completing the top four with a last-gap move in the final round of the home and away season on the weekend.

Needing to claim all five points and look for other results to fall its way, Rainbow claimed the last finals spot when it defeated Jeparit and Hopetoun proved too strong for Warrack Gold.

Starting the round in fifth place and three and a half points behind Warrack Gold, Rainbow claimed maximum points on Friday night before Hopetoun completed the task when it claimed four points against Gold, leaving Rainbow inside the top four by half a point.

Playing a full complement of six men and six ladies at the Health & Fitness Centre courts in Dimboola, Rainbow set the tone for the night in the mixed doubles section when it claimed the first five sets to ensure the opening point.

A 9-2 victory to Jordan Schwarz and Lil McKenzie saved Jeparit from a clean sweep as Rainbow opened winning five sets, 47 games to one set, 26 games.

The Men's section proved the closest of the night as Jeparit's Daniel Keam and Ash O'Halloran opened with a 9-7 victory before Rainbow peeled off the next four sets to ensure its second point of the night.

Jeparit won the final set in a tie-breaker as Rainbow won four sets, 51 games to two sets, 33 games.

Rainbow topped its night in the Ladies section after sets were squared at one-all after the first two sets, before Rainbow won the next four sets to wrap up the section five sets, 52 games to one set, 26 games.

The final result saw Rainbow set up its chance to enter the fop four with five points, 14 sets, 150 games to four sets, 85 games.

Rainbow's move into fourth place was cemented on Saturday when ladder leader Hopetoun proved too strong for Warrack Gold on the Anzac Park courts.

Playing six men and five ladies, Warrack Gold needed to secure at least one and a half points and worked hard throughout the mixed doubles section as it shared sets with Hopetoun with the visitors securing a singles win when Nathan Williams won 9-7 in the opening set.

Scott Stewart and Emma Koschitzke levelled scores with a 9-3 win before the next four sets were shared to leave Hopetoun leading three sets to two.

A final tie-break win to Dave Nitschke and Wendy Hewitt shared sets but Hopetoun claimed the point 43 games to 38.

From that point on, Warrack Gold's chances were slim with the Hopetoun men proving too strong when it produced a clean sweep of sets to claim the section 54 games to 17.

Warrack Gold's ladies were in good form throughout the day and claimed the point four sets to one with Hopetoun's Bridget Williams and Jonti George claiming a 9-6 win to claim their side's set.

But Gold was able to secure the remaining sets to win the section 42 games to 25.

Koschitzke and Wendy Hewitt were in good form throughout the day to win all sets played for Gold, while Hopetoun's Nathan Williams, Mal McLean and Anthony Schache won their three sets.

Warrack Maroon cemented its third position when it proved too strong for Dimboola to claim a clean sweep of points, winning 12 sets, 117 games to three sets, 56 games.

Playing five men and five ladies, Maroon claimed the opening point in the mixed doubles when it dropped just three games to win the opening three sets before Dimboola hit back to claim the last two sets to see Maroon win three sets, 36 games to two sets, 21 games.

Both the Men's and Ladies sections belonged to Maroon who dominated both with its men claiming four of the five sets played with Corey Goss and substitute Paul Slater claiming Dimboola's winning set 9-2 as Maroon claimed the point 36 games to 27.

The Ladies section saw Maroon claim all five sets and leak just eight games to claim the section 45 games to eight.

Arkona finished its season in winning form when it won its third match in a row which saw it fall two points short of challenging fourth spot.

Playing five men and five ladies against Yaapeet, Arkona was able to produce a clean sweep of points on the courts at Yaapeet.

Nick Pietsch and Elizabeth Klinge won a tight opening set in the mixed doubles 9-7 as Arkona dominated the section to win all sets in a 45 games to 21 win.

The Men's section proved the closest of the day as Arkona won the opening two sets before Yaapeet's Hugh Herben and Les Jones claimed a 9-1 to keep their side in the contest.

But a 9-1 win to Trevor McBain and Gordon Klinge ensured Arkona its second point before Yaapeet won the final set 9-6 to Jones and Jon Fuller.

Arkona was dominant in the Ladies section as it won all sets on offer to claim the point 45 games to 14.

At the Health & Fitness Centre courts on Saturday, second-placed Antwerp proved too strong for Brim to claim all points on offer.

A dominant start in the mixed doubles had Antwerp up and running with a clean sweep of sets to lead 54 games to 21.

Brim's David Stewart and Steve Murphy won the opening Men's set in a tie-breaker before Antwerp hit back to claim the remaining five sets to win the section 53 games to 28.

The ladies played out a similar path to the men as Antwerp claimed five of the six sets on offer with Brim sisters Kiani and Molly Stewart winning the final set in a tie-breaker as Antwerp claimed the section 53 games to 19.

This weekend's finals will see Hopetoun host Antwerp in the second semi-final, while Warrack Maroon will play Rainbow at Anzac Park in the first semi-final.
