Lyn Weavell is this year celebrating ten years of caring for the young children of Dimboola.

Lyn runs family day care on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 9am to 3.30pm, as well as long day care from 8.30am to 5.30pm under Wimmera Uniting Care at the Dimboola Early Learning Centre.

She has created an environment that allows the children to feel both comfortable and safe, and where imagination and adventure are an integral part of each day.

Lyn believes in enabling children to express themselves as individuals through a variety of different mediums such as arts, crafts and music. The program that she runs is based solely around each individual child in her care.

She enjoys the challenge of finding out what each child loves and she then uses their loves to extend their learning in many other areas.

"If a child loves playing with cars but is not interested in standing at and easel to do a painting I will pop out a tray of paint for that child to drive their cars in and they can paint with their cars," she said.

A number of children and parents have told their thoughts and memories of "Lynnie". The lasting positive impression that she leaves on past and present children can be well and truly seen in these comments, which we have published below.

For enrolment details contact Lyn on 5389 1130.

Congratulations to Lyn on a great ten years of service to Dimboola's young people!

Liam
I love Lynnie because she lets me choose craft like painting and making sheep. I want to go there everyday because she looks after me really well and gives me lots of kisses and cuddles.

Millie
It was all good, everything about Day Care with Lyn was always good every time I went. I loved it so much.

Emma, mother of Maddix:
Lyn is a very special lady who forms beautiful bonds with all children she cares for. When deciding who would care for my 5 month old daughter when I was returning to work it was easy.

I had witnessed the love between Lyn and "her' children both past and present, and knew my daughter would be well cared for. They have already got a special bond and my daughter is always happy while she is there.

Sarah, mother of Mason
I have noticed a cute little bond forming between Lyn and Mason.

Charlie
I remember always digging a massive hole in the sandpit with Henry and Lyn would let us put water in it.

Emily
She was so kind and nice and we loved playing with her.

Cooper
I want Lynnie to know how very kind she was to me.

Flynn
I remember when Lynnie gave us a treat of hot chips.

Lucy
Lynnie was always really nice to everyone and looked after them when they were hurt.

Reef
Lynnie was the best because she helped us do "sticking' (pasting) and she helped us on the trikes.

Emma
I loved going to Lynnie's as I had fun and she was "cute.'

Tahnee
I lost my first tooth at Lynnie's and she looked after me.

Paige
Lyn inspired me through her care to be compassionate, creative and to believe in myself. Since being with Lyn I have a love for craft and making lots of things.

Billie
I like she gave me a Birthday party and she plays games with us.

Indy and Brook
Lynnie is like a nana to us.

Lenny
Lynnie taught me lots of new things.

Milla
I love it when Lynnie makes us jelly cups.

Henry and Leo
Lynnie always gives us cuddles and love.

Paddy
I like washing dinosaurs with Lynnie.

Bede
I like crafting with Lynnie.

Jessica, mother of Ayden
I would have to say that Lynnie puts my worries at bay and treats my child like one of her own. She is so patient, kind and caring and treats every single child the same and with the utmost love. She truly is a wonderful woman.

Lucinda, mother of Levi
I remember when Levi came home from Day Care and was copying Lynnie's exercises. We have all just loved her to bits. My boys think the world of her and Levi wishes he could go to Lynnie's every day.

Becky, mother of Layla and Tilly
My girls loved going to Lyn's. They always had lots of fun and never wanted to leave. They still ask if they can go to Lyn's in the holidays.

Sonia, Mother of Artie
It meant so much to me that Lyn took the time to do diabetes training out of hours so that Artie could attend child care.
