Fire Danger Period comes to an end
|The Fire Danger Period comes to an end next week in the Hindmarsh and Yarriambiack council areas, as well as parts of the West Wimmera and Horsham Rural City.
The conclusion of the Fire Danger Period is based on the change in local fire risk conditions.
Burning off grass, stubble, weeds, undergrowth or other vegetation is generally permitted outside the Fire Danger Period but local laws on burn-offs can apply year-round. The CFA advises to check with your local council before burning off, and that all burn-offs should be registered with ESTA.
The Fire Danger Period will conclude at 1am on Monday 3 April 2017 in the following areas:
Yarriambiack Shire Council
Hindmarsh Shire Council
West Wimmera Shire Council
that part north of the line described by: Natimuk-Frances Road, Lake Charliegrark Road, Kaniva-Edenhope Road, Sims Road, Charam-Wombelano Road, Wombelano Road and Harrow-Clear Lake Road.
Horsham Rural City Council

In September 2017, it will be 100 years since the sons of Edwin and Polly were killed in the First World War, only 4 days apart.
To commemorate this event, on Sunday 24th of September 2017, a service will be held at the Dimboola Cemetery.
