On Wednesday 9th of August, six Dimboola Memorial Secondary College students from Year 7 and 8 went to Horsham to participate in the German Poetry Competition, which involved students reciting a poem that they had learned to a panel of judges.

Zeke Ough gained second place in the Year 8 section and is now eligible to participate in the State finals later this month and Tonnis Wolthuis gained a third placing in the Year 7 section.

Others who competed included Alex Zippel, Harper Harradine, Isobelle Schorback and DJ Clyde.

Unfortunately some other students who had done the work to learn a poem were unable to compete on the day due to illness.
