Two Ballarat ladies with a local connection, who are passionate about quilts, will showcase their work for Relay for Life team ‘Friends of ours’.

Maree Milington and Marj Traynor are passionate about patchwork, having attended many specialised workshops and quilt cruises to hone their skills. This is the first time they have put on a public display of their work, with quilts having been entered in the Melbourne Show over the past few years.

Each quilt will have the story of its inception attached. The story may outline the pattern used, or where the fabric was sourced. In some cases fabric has come from Amish supplies and sourced from the USA.

There will also be a plant sale with most plants at $2. A variety of indoor plants, succulents and other special species will be available to buy.

Through the generosity of Precious Thyme Quilting in Ballarat, a beautiful bright quilt has been donated. Seppelt Wines at Great Western, Farmgirl Produce from Horsham and The White Hart have all generously donated items. Everyone attending will have the opportunity to buy a ticket to win one of these wonderful prizes.

The kitchen will be open for Devonshire tea or coffee and Mrs Milington and Mrs Traynor will be on hand to chat about their work.

The exhibition is for one day only on Saturday 3 February at the Lutheran Church Hall in Baillie Street Horsham.
