The popular community event in Nhill, the Fabulous February Fiestas are back again this year, with the first one to be held this evening and will featuring local and guest artists, the Teddy Bear's Picnic and a special welcome to new residents to the town.
Musical entertainment will be provided by guest artist Dave McMaster (above) who will be joined by the local eight member Button Accordian Band, which has been made welcome at almost every function and gathering in and around Nhill since they started in 1990. Following them will be a great treat for Nhill with Kaitlyn Miller, who is completing her VET Certificate 3 in Music Performance in year 12, performing her own arrangements of a number of popular songs and will have her student friends for support.
For the children, the popular Teddy Bear's Picnic will be back with party treats for all the children who are encouraged to bring along their teddy bear or other favourite toy, register and be there for all the fun and stories. Added to the Teddy Bear's Picnic with be the opportunity for the older children to paint and keep their own library book bag. All Children's activities are free.
The Face Painter will be at work and Strawberry the Clown will have her balloons and magic to amuse and amaze as well as the Sand Mountain which is bigger this year, stocked with great toys to find and enjoy. Nhill College Past Students are gathering at the Fiesta for their reunion and the Karen ladies will be serving their special food style by request.
This week the invitation is extended to all new residents of the town to be the guests of the Nhill Town Committee with free entry for the family and a complimentary meal from the Lions barbeque. The committee wishes to welcome the new residents and hope this opportunity gives them a chance to meet new friends. Pizza de Wheels mobile wood fired pizza oven, Geoff the Ice Cream Man, Celia and her Asian Cuisine, Lions Club barbeque, hot donuts and Cas's Coffee Cart will be providing the food for the evening.
