Building better schools for Western Victoria
Dimboola Memorial Secondary College is one of sixty regional Victorian schools that will share in over $180 million in funding to fix, upgrade and modernise their facilities.

The Victorian Government announced on Friday that the 2018/19 Victorian Budget will invest $180.8 million to build and upgrade regional schools, which includes $7.57 million that will go towards building and upgrading schools in western Victoria.

The following three schools in the Wimmera are to receive funding:
  • $600,000 for Dimboola Memorial Secondary to upgrade and modernise facilities
  • $2.3 million for Kaniva College to upgrade and modernise facilities
  • $4 million for Stawell Secondary College to construct the first stage of the school’s masterplan

This boost to regional school funding will upgrade classrooms and school facilities across Victoria, helping teachers and giving more students the support they need to get the best possible education.

The Victorian School Building Authority will now start working with schools to determine the scope of their upgrades and how they can best be delivered.

Although D.M.S.C. has two relatively new buildings, many of the classrooms are decades old and could benefit from refurbishment.
