Reports of rubbish being dumped along the Wimmera River have disappointed Dimboola residents.

Boxes of old light globes have been found in reeds along the River at the back of the Common.

While the dumping of any rubbish is disappointing and punishable by law, the dumping of light globes including compact fluorescents is of particular concern given that they contain mercury, which needs to be carefully disposed of.

Dumped rubbish can be reported to the EPA on 1300 372 842 at any time of the day or night.
