It was announced this morning that, from next Monday, masks (or other face coverings) will be mandatory when in public across Victoria, with all of regional Victoria joining Melbourne and Mitchell Shire in this requirement.

This comes as Victoria records its highest daily tally of COVID-19 cases at 723.

Face coverings will be mandatory for all Victorians, including in regional areas, when in public except for those with medical exemptions or when engaging in strenuous exercise. You are required, however, to have a face covering with you if you are exercising in public. A $200 fine may be issued to people flouting this rule under the current State of Emergency.

Despite recent reports of cases across the region, no cases have been reported to date in the Hindmarsh LGA.
