After a dry and cold start to Winter, we are about to receive some much-needed rain over the weekend.

With the northern Wimmera having received just 11 millimetres of rain in the last month, it has endured its driest July since 1997, but this is set to change over the next couple of days.

The Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Warning to Sheep Graziers for most of Victoria, including the Wimmera, Mallee, and South West forecast districts.

This warning forecasts that rain and cold southeasterly winds are expected during Friday and Saturday, with a maximum temperature of just 10°C in Horsham today and a minimum of 4°C overnight.

Earlier this week Horsham experienced some significant frosts, with recorded minimum temperatures of -0.8°C, -4.1°C, and -1.9°C between Tuesday and Thursday.
