The 2020/21 Dimboola District Tennis Association season hits off this weekend with the focus on Antwerp as they set out to defend the title they won earlier this year, but seven other clubs will be aiming to stop them.

After a quiet winter with very little senior team sport played due to Caronavirus restrictions, players are keen to get out on the courts and fields for the summer season, with tennis one of the first to make a start.

Once again eight clubs will vie for the local tennis title over a fourteen round home and away season, followed by semi-finals and a grand final in late March 2021.

Arkona travelled to Rainbow to open the season yesterday, while reigning premier Antwerp commence their title defence against Warrack Gold on the Anzac Park courts in Warracknabeal this afternoon.

Other matchups today will see Dimboola travel to Hopetoun and Brim host Jeparit.

The Christmas/New Year break starts after round nine on December 5, and tennis recommences in 2021 on January 29 with round ten.

The two semi-finals will take place on Saturday, March 13, and the grand final is on March 20.
