This Advice message is being issued for Dimboola, Duchembegarra, Little Desert, Natimuk, Pimpinio, Vectis, Wail.

The bushfire is within the Little Desert National Park, there remains small pockets of fire activity. The fire started Sunday afternoon from several lightening strikes in the area.

There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.

Monitor warnings so you can act quickly if the situation changes.
  • Firefighters are responding to this fire.
  • Bulldozers are operating in the area.
  • Smoke may be visible from nearby roads and communities.
  • The Horseshoe Bend campground has been closed to visitors.
  • Visitors to the Little Desert National park are asked to avoid the area west of Dimboola.

There is a bushfire at Little Desert National Park that is not yet under control.

The bushfire is in the Little Desert National Park and is travelling towards Horseshoe Bend in a north easterly direction. Residents in Horseshoe Bend Road, Stringybark Road, Pine Avenue, Banksia Court, Golf Course Road, Bushby Lane and Old Racecourse Road should be on high alert.

If the situation changes or you feel unsafe you should leave - take your pets, medications, mobile phone and charger. Travel to the home of family or friends that are away from the warning area or Horsham.

Emergency Services may not be able to help you if you decide to stay.

Monitor changes to the situation. Increased wind speed, change in wind direction, smoke or poor visibility can indicate the situation is changing.

If you are away from home, do not return.

Bushfires can start spot fires and embers large distances ahead of the main fire.
