The Blackheath-Dimboola Bulls remain solidly in the top four of the Horsham Cricket Association’s B grade despite a loss to the top team on the weekend.

Colts batted first and recovered from being two for 19 to finish on 183 for the loss of three wickets. Sam Polack was the best of the Blackheath-Dimboola bowlers, finishing with 2 for 42 off his eight overs, and the third wicket was taken by Roman Watt.

The highlight of the inning, from Colts’ perspective, was a partnership of 157 for the third wicket.

The Bulls’ openers started the run chase confidently, having put on 35 runs when Sam Polack was the first to lose his wicket for 32.

Brodie Cramer joined Daniel Polack, and together they took the total to 91 before Daniel was dismissed for 24. Cramer was out soon after for 30.

Elliot Braithwaite made the innings high score of 39, but the innings fell away after this, with the last seven batsmen scoring 26 between them which left the team 26 runs short of Colts’ total.

Blackheath-Dimboola now goes into the break in third place on the B grade ladder after seven rounds.

With eight games remaining to be played in the new year, the team will recommence their quest for the finals with four Twenty20 matches, the first of which will be played on January 16, followed by four more 40 over games before the finals in March.
