Following a competitive recruitment process, Hindmarsh Shire Council has appointed Monica Revell as the new Chief Executive Officer.

At the scheduled meeting on Wednesday, 3 April 2024, Council selected Mrs Monica Revell as the new Chief Executive Officer from a large field of high-quality applications after multiple rounds of interviews.

Mrs Revell will be well known to the local community, having worked for Council since February 2011 in many roles, including as Council’s Director Corporate and Community Services for seven years and Acting CEO for the past five and a half months.

Mrs Revell, who will commence in the role next Monday, has a strong understanding of the challenges faced by rural and regional communities, having lived in Dimboola for almost 25 years and growing up in Horsham.
“I am excited to accept this position and work closely with staff, the community, and Council to deliver the vision, strategic objectives, and advocacy priorities for Hindmarsh Shire.”
- New Hindmarsh Shire Council CEO, Monica Revell.
We are very fortunate to have a person of Monica’s experience to take our shire into the future, she already knows the business thoroughly.

Mrs Revell has an unbridled passion for her community, staff and local government and the services it provides. I know she will excel in key areas such as increased advocacy for financial and infrastructure projects, a desire to improve community satisfaction across all areas of local government and an open and approachable manner to everybody.

Mayor Cr Brett Ireland said, I look forward to Monica bringing her own stamp to our Council and implementing new and exciting things for our communities. The shire is in good hands.
