One of the biggest events in the Wimmera this year will take place tomorrow, both in the sky above the Nhill aerodrome and on the ground.

While a long list of aircraft will be on display and in action, the event program also includes a wealth of earth-bound displays including vintage cars, military vehicles, craft displays and demonstrations, performers, and re-enactors.

8.30 am - Gates Open
9.30 am - DC3 arrives
10.30 am to 3.00 pm - Air Displays
1.00 pm - Official Opening with Guest Speaker Jane Bunn
1.00 pm to 2.00 pm - Public Viewing of Aircraft
1.15 pm - Travel Raffle Drawn

Throughout the day -
  • Pacific Belles performances - 10.00 am, 12.30 pm, and 2.30 pm
  • Children’s Face Painting - 10.00 am to 2.00 pm
  • Crafter’s Fair demonstrations - 10.00 am to 11.00 am and 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm
  • Hot Air Balloon flights - mainly in the morning
  • Helicopter joy flights - all day

The event is focused upon the Nhill Aerodrome, which was formally a Royal Australian Airforce Base during World War One, and now is the home of the Nhill Aviation Heritage Centre and its unique collection of aircraft and displays showcasing the district’s aviation history.

  • Crafters Fair - featuring artisans showcasing their talents, offering unique creations, and celebrating vibrant creativity.
  • Nhill Aviation Heritage Centre and its collection of aircraft including the Wirraway, Link Trainer, Tiger Moth, and under-restoration Avro Anson.
  • Jane Bunn, Channel Seven weather presenter will be the Guest of Honour on the day.
  • Performances by the Pacific Belles.
  • Displays from the Horsham Military Collection and the Horsham Reserves showcasing military heritage and prowess.
  • A display of Studebaker cars and other vintage vehicles, including a unique DeLorean car.
  • Members of the Wartime Living History Association bringing history to life with their engaging re-enactments.
  • A wide selection of Aviation merchandise will be available through the Nhill Aviation Heritage Centre and the Paul Bennet Airshows merchandise truck.
