St Peter’s celebrates 60 years of education in Dimboola
Past and present members of the St Peter’s Lutheran School community gathered in Dimboola last weekend to celebrate sixty years of providing education to the town and district.

Over sixty people attended a function held at the Dimboola Memorial Secondary College hall on Saturday evening representing all generations of the school community.

Four principals were present, including Bruno Matushka, the inaugural principal from 1958 to 1961 who travelled from Queensland despite his advancing age, Stephen Rudolph who led the school between 1978 and 1981 and is currently Executive Director of Lutheran Education Australia, Lois Kube who was principal in 2015 and also travelled from Queensland, and incumbent leader since 2016, Tim Reimann.

Reimann was MC for the evening, and both Matushka and Rudolph addressed the gathering and shared their reminiscences of their time at Dimboola.

The function was also attended by many former students, staff, school councillors and other members of the school community.

Earlier in the day the school was opened to the public providing the opportunity for past students, staff and parents, prospective families and interested members of the community to view the facilities and interact with current staff and students.

Current students were available to conduct tours of the facilities, and there was face painting and games to keep children occupied.

A sausage sizzle was provided which gave the opportunity for people to spend time at the school and reminisce about their time there.

The celebrations concluded on Sunday with a service at St Peter’s Lutheran Church, luncheon and a display of memorabilia in the hall.
