It’s been another good week at the Dimboola Bowling Club with both 1st and 3rd divisions recording wins.
Once again it was the 3rd division side taking centre stage with another big win winning by 41 shots.
This has catapulted 3rd division to the top of the ladder, a great effort and well done to all members of the side.
Special mention goes to the team of Trevor Werner, Frank Neagle, Bill Ballard and Alex Orcsik who scored an 8 on the 19th end, well done to the team. In pennant bowls scoring an 8 is the rare event when the team has all their bowls closer than the opposition on an end scoring the maximum, once again well done.
The final scores were Trevor Werner’s team 38 -12, John Moar’s team 24 -14 and Bryan Beattie’s team 25-20 with Dimboola winning 87 shots to Sunnyside 46.
In first division it was a closer contest with two teams having a win and two teams falling short.
The team of Rob Pyers, Darryl Both, Rob Clark and Merv Roberts recorded a big win winning by 21 shots 34-13, Alan Krahe’s team had a win by 5 shots 22-17 which more than covered losses to Geoff Gazelle’s team 25-29 and Peter O’Loughlin’s team 18-26 giving Dimboola a 99-85 win.
This win has put Dimboola into third spot on the ladder so overall a great result.
The club wishes a speedy recovery to Cliff Unger who is having a stint in hospital, we hope to see Cliff at the club soon.
Next Saturday sees first division travel to Horsham to play Horsham City 2 and the second division side play Coughlin Park 4 at Dimboola.
