Students from Dimboola Memorial Secondary College took to the pool last Tuesday for the College’s annual swimming sports.
With student participation numbers up on last year, staff were happy with how the day went, despite cooler weather.
Several records were broken on the day and there were some great individual performances.
The “Swimmer of the Meet” trophy this year went to Mayci Porter, a testament not only to her ability in the pool but also her willingness to compete in every event.
At the end of the day, it was Wimmera house who got their name on the trophy, but the overall result was closer than last year.
DMSC Principal Mrs Anne Gawith thanked the many parents, grandparents and friends who came along to support the students, the staff who helped the day to run smoothly, and Mick and Lisa Polycarpou who once again had the pool and surrounds in pristine condition for the event.
The following students were recognised as age group champions for their results in the pool:
U13 – Ethan Gartlan and Katie Griffiths
U14 – Mayci Porter and Isaac Wren
U15 – Tara Petschel and Tonnis Wolthuis
U16 – Hanna Stefinger and Evan Hunter
U17 – Olivia Lehmann and Bryce Day
U18 – Rebekah Albrecht and Will Griffiths
