The return from a fortnight break saw unfortunate results for both of Dimboola’s pennant bowls teams.

Read Kittyhawk Pete‘s report below.

Well what can we say, after a two week break both weekend pennant teams went down to their respective Horsham opponents.

First Division
First division played at Sunnyside on their new synthetic green and the Dimboola team couldn’t handle the slow pace at all. All sides went down with the final score being 55 to 94, this was one of our biggest loses for many years so we need to bounce back next week. We again play in Horsham against Coughlin Park 2.

The side of Geoff Gazelle, Greg Cook, John Moar and Darryl Argall had a day they would like to forget going down 8 to 37, this side has a habit of bouncing back so let‘s hope this happens next Saturday.

Alan Krahe, Wayne Albrecht, Robert Clark and Josh Cook had a good tussle for most of the afternoon and it wasn’t until late in the game that the Sunnyside side got on top to win by 7 shots 25 to 32.

Peter O’Loughlin, Judith Albrecht, Ron Gaulke and Merv Roberts got off to a slow start to be down by 14 shots at one stage but fought back to win 13 of the 25 ends but went down narrowly by 3 shots overall.

Second Division
Second division had a much closer game going down by 9 shots 60 to 69 against Horsham Golf at Golf.

Ric Danisch’s side had the only win out of all of our sides winning by 5 shots 25 to 20, Bryan Beattie‘s side went down by 4 shots in a close game 19 to 23 and Cliff Unger’s side went down by 10 shots 16 to 26.

I have to apologize for not naming all the second division sides names but I have misplaced last week‘s team sheet.
