Bowls | First Division look forward to semi-finals
The weekend pennant teams played the last matches of the regular season on Saturday, and although the Second Division team is now finished, the First Division is preparing for he seem-finals next weekend.

Update - the First Division semi final will be played at Sunnyside on Saturday starting at 1.30 pm.

This is how Kittyhawk Pete saw the weekend games.

First Division had a day that didn’t start off well with a last-minute replacement required when a player becomes unavailable which resulted in two teams having to be changed putting the team under pressure from the start.

The team of Alan Krahe, Wayne Albrecht, Greg Cook, and Josh Cook had a good day winning 26 to 22 but the other two sides that had the last minute changes both struggled against their strong Sunnyside opponents. The team of Geoff Gazelle, Darryl Both, Robert Clark and Darryl Argall went down 21 to 31 and the team of Rob Pyers, Judith Albrecht, Ron Gaulke, and Merv Roberts going down 10 to 35. The final scores were Dimboola 57 to Sunnyside 88.

Next week will be the first semi-final against Horsham City, at the time of this report the venue is not known, the teams for Saturday’s game are:

Teams for First Division Semi Final February 15

Lead: Merv Roberts  Second: Ron GaulkeThird: Judith AlbrechtSkip: Peter O’Loughlin
Lead: Darryl Argall Second: Darryl Both  Third: Rob PyersSkip: Geoff Gazelle
Lead: Josh Cook Second: Greg Cook Third: Wayne Albrecht  Skip: Alan Krahe

Please check the notice board for what time cars will be leaving.

Second Division had their final game for the season going down to their Natimuk rivals by 13 shots. Even though Second Division didn’t make the finals they had a year they can be proud of.

Good luck to First Division for Saturday and may they have a great game.

All the best in Bowling
