It was a quiet weekend on the cricket pitches for the Hindmarsh teams, with all three senior teams not playing due to forfeits.

After this ‘break’, both the A and B grades will commence the last of the regular rounds this weekend with two-day games before the finals, and the C grade will play their penultimate one-day game.

A grade

The Blackheath-Dimboola Bulls forfeited their two-day game to Noradjuha-Toolondo Bullants that would have been completed on Saturday, and next weekend the Bulls are scheduled to welcome Colts to the Dimboola Recreation Reserve for what will be the last game for the year for both teams as they are both out of the running for the finals.

Interest remains in the game as the wooden spoon is still up for grabs. Blackheath-Dimboola go into the game in last place on the ladder, but a solid win could see them rise above Colts.

B grade

The West Wimmera Warriors had the last two weeks off after Quantong forfeited their latest two-day game.

This weekend they will travel to the Dimboola Road Oval in Horsham to take on Jung Tigers, and although the have already claimed the minor premiership, players will be keen to impress the selectors to ensure their place in the team for the finals.

Jung will also be determined for a win as they can finish in second place on the ladder with a good win.

C grade

The C grade Warriors had Saturday afternoon off after Jung Tigers were unable to field a team and forfeited their game.

Although there are two rounds remaining, the Warriors are drawn to have the bye in the last round so will be looking for a win this week so they can extend their recent good form into the finals.

Their clash this Saturday with Colts at Dudley Cornell Park in Horsham promises to be a top encounter as these two teams played out a thrilling tie when they last met back in December at Jeparit.

A win to the Warriors will almost ensure that they go into the finals in top spot, but a loss leaves them vulnerable to slip back to second, but either way they are destined to play in the finals.
