After an absence of three years, the Dimboola Regatta will return to the picturesque Wimmera River in November for the first time since 2019.

With the 2020 and 2021 editions of the event cancelled due to the pandemic and last year’s not being held due to dangerously high river levels, rowers from across the state will converge on Dimboola on the weekend of 11 and 12 November for the 133rd Dimboola Regatta and 11th Head of the Wimmera.

The members of the Dimboola Rowing Club have been putting in many hours of work to prepare the course and other facilities for the event.

Two representatives from Rowing Victoria recently assessed both rowing courses, the short sprint course used for the regatta and the longer time-trial course for the Head of the River, and both have been approved for competition. While in town, these officials also conducted a training session for several of the club’s qualified Boat Race Officials.
