Southern Mallee Storm or Thunder?
Following the vote last week by members to merge the Jeparit-Rainbow Storm and the Southern Mallee Giants Football Netball clubs, the new entity is seeking public feedback on its suggested new name and colours.
Their social media pages have been buzzing for the last few days with much discussion.
While there have already been many suggestions, the options that the joint committee has put on the table are -
Name -
- Southern Mallee Power
- Southern Mallee Thunder
Colours -
- Navy Blue and White (similar to Geelong in the AFL)
- Teal, Black, and White (similar to Port Adelaide Power in the AFL)
For those who wish to express their opinion, this can be done via the link on the Southern Mallee Giants and Jeparit Rainbow Storm Facebook pages or attend the first Annual General Meeting of the new club on Wednesday, 22 November at 7.00 pm at the Rainbow Recreation Reserve.
The new club will participate in the Wimmera Football Netball League, with their first engagement to be a home game against the Warrack Eagles on 20 April next year.
